Ubuntu 11.10 and Unity - My Experiences

I've recently installed Ubuntu 11.10 and had a try with Unity.
The idea seems to be cool for touch devices, but on my HP netbook it didn't work that stable.
The new dash is cool, but doesn't work all time.
The top bar is cool, as it has all the important options in it.
For me personally the option of the window title bar with the three usual window buttons is cool, because i like this function in Apple's OSX or Windows 3.11 .

If you don't like that design, you can run a session with the GLDock, also known as Cairo-Dock.
What i was missing then was the top bar where you see the keyboard setting, printing, and battery status, as well as the networkstatus.
There is an Applet for Cairo-Dock to bring this options back to the desktop.

Most applications though are available in better versions, that have a lot of new features.
There is also a good integration of Empathy and Evolution into the desktop, so you can keep updated with the newest messages from the social networks chat features.
There is also an option to sync your evolution with your GMail services, as Mail and Calendar.
Ubuntu One is also a cool new service implemented very well into Ubuntu 11.10.
This is a good option to use instead of dropbox, to sync Computer with your Android Smartphones.
There should also be an option to sync your Facebook contacts into your Ubuntu One Account, which you can sync with your Evolution client.

The Ubuntu Software Center is also really good implemented.
In Ubuntu 11.10 the Software Center is looking like the Android Market or the iOS Appstore.

So if you like the way Android or iOS is built, Ubuntu 11.10 can be for you.
Try it out yourself Today.
